Exam 1/P - Probability


Exam 1/P is a three–hour multiple–choice examination the Society of Actuaries (SOA) offers Exam 1/P via computer–based testing (CBT).

The syllabus for Exam 1/P is designed to develop the candidate's knowledge of fundamental probability tools for quantitative risk assessment. Applying these tools to problems encountered in actuarial science is emphasized, and a thorough command of the supporting calculus is assumed. Additionally, a very basic knowledge of insurance and risk management is assumed.

Exam 1/P is required for ASA, CERA and FSA designations.
