Exam MLC - Currently in Beta Testing

Exam M consists of five and a half hours of multiple–choice questions offered in two independent segments:

The Life Contingencies Segment (Exam MLC) is a three–hour multiple–choice examination.

The Financial Economics Segment (Exam MFE) is a two and a half–hour multiple–choice examination and is identical to Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) Exam 3F.

The syllabus for Exam M develops the candidate's knowledge of the theoretical basis of certain actuarial models and the application of those models to insurance and other financial risks. A thorough knowledge of calculus, probability and interest theory is assumed. Knowledge of risk management at the level of Exam P is also assumed.

Both MLC and MFE segments are required for ASA and FSA designations.

Currently, the Beta program is for MLC only.
